Battery service terms

Scope

Salt Lake Hybrid Battery Repair works on the hybrid battery pack: testing, module replacement, balancing, rebuilt packs, new-cell kits, and the pre-purchase battery check. We do not remove batteries from vehicles, reinstall them, or carry out other vehicle repair. Mobile mechanics we refer you to are independent businesses; your arrangement with them is between you and them.

Estimates and approval

After testing your pack we send an estimate by email with an approve link. No modules are replaced until you approve the estimate. The final price follows the estimate unless you approve a change. If you decline the estimate there is nothing to pay; collect your pack within 14 days of being told it is ready.

Replacement modules

Unless you order a new-cell kit, replacement modules are used OEM modules that we have cycled, tested and matched to the modules kept in your pack. They are not new.

Payment

Payment is due at pickup, by cash, Venmo or Zelle. No deposit is taken.

Pickup and storage

We let you know when your battery is ready. Please collect it within 14 days. After 14 days a storage charge of $20 a day applies. A battery left for more than 90 days may be sold under Utah law to recover the charges owed.

Warranty

90-day limited warranty from pickup. If the battery fails because of a module we installed or kept, bring it in and we'll test it and replace the failed modules at no charge for modules or our labor. Removing and reinstalling the battery isn't included, and damage from removal or installation by others, accidents, or other vehicle problems isn't covered. To make a claim, text 435-730-3203 with your warning light and mileage. This warranty is the only warranty we give; there are no other warranties, express or implied, and our responsibility is limited to retesting the pack and replacing failed modules.

Rebuilt batteries for sale and core charges

Rebuilt packs are sold with the same 90-day limited warranty. A refundable core charge applies unless you bring us the battery you are replacing at the time of sale: $750 for Prius, Prius c, Prius v and Lexus CT 200h packs, and $1,000 for Camry, Avalon, Highlander and other Lexus packs. The core charge is refunded in full when a pack of the same type comes back to us within 45 days.

New-cell kits

Kits sold on their own are for installation by the buyer. A kit we install in your pack is covered by the same 90-day limited warranty as a rebuild.

Battery check before you buy

The $200 battery check is a reading of the hybrid battery's condition on the day, taken through the vehicle's diagnostic port. It is not a whole-car inspection and not a guarantee of future performance. The fee is credited in full toward a rebuild of that battery within 60 days.

Text messaging program

Program name: Salt Lake Hybrid Battery Messaging Service.

Description: service messages, appointment notifications, estimate and pickup updates, and occasional reminders related to hybrid battery services offered by Salt Lake Hybrid Battery Repair.

Message and data rates may apply. You are responsible for any fees charged by your carrier.

Frequency: varies with service activity. You may receive up to 4 messages a month for routine reminders, plus occasional alerts as needed.

Help and opt-out: reply HELP for help. Reply STOP to opt out; we will send one final confirmation and you will receive no further messages from this program.
