Labor is set by the pack type. Modules are extra, and only the ones that fail testing are replaced. You get an estimate by email after testing and approve it before any work.
Rebuild labor by pack type
Packs with more modules take longer to test, balance and reassemble, so labor follows the module count. Prices are for battery pack work only.

- Prices are for battery pack work only. Removal and installation are separate, through partner mobile mechanics.
- The Prius v and the 6-cell Lexus packs are quoted at Prius and Camry rates because they use the same type of module. We confirm the module type when the pack is on the bench, and tell you before any work if it differs.
- Example: a 2010 Prius with 8 modules replaced is $500 + 8 × $45 = $860. The examples on the cards use the same arithmetic.
- Lexus LS 600h and lithium-ion hybrids are not offered.
What the labor covers
Included in every rebuild
- Every module in your pack tested out of the car: load behaviour, resting voltage and remaining capacity, with capacity cycling when a module needs a closer look.
- Weak modules replaced with used OEM modules we've cycled, tested and matched to the ones kept in your pack. Modules are billed per module replaced.
- Pack balanced and rechecked before it goes back.
- An estimate by email with an approve link before any work, and nothing to pay if you decline. An invoice by email at pickup.
- A printed test report for your modules.
- Our 90-day limited warranty.
Not included
- Removing the battery from the car and reinstalling it. Partner mobile mechanics do that.
- Other vehicle repair, hybrid system diagnosis beyond the pack, or cooling-fan and duct cleaning. Your mechanic can clean the fan and ducts while the pack is out, and it's worth asking.
- New modules. The default rebuild uses tested used OEM modules. If you want every module new, see the new-cell kit below.

Installing the kit means moving the new modules into your pack's case with its bus bars, sensors and ECU, then testing and balancing. It doesn't include removing the pack from the car or reinstalling it. A kit on its own is a pick-up item for people doing the work themselves.

Getting the pack out and back in
We don't work on the car itself. Removal and installation are available through partner mobile mechanics who can do the work at your home or work and bring the pack to us.

Installation is arranged between you and the mechanic, and it isn't included in our prices. Our warranty covers the battery work only. If you already have a mobile mechanic you trust, they're welcome to bring the pack to us, and if you've removed it yourself, bring it in.
90-day limited warranty
90-day limited warranty from pickup. If the battery fails because of a module we installed or kept, bring it in and we'll test it and replace the failed modules at no charge for modules or our labor. Removing and reinstalling the battery isn't included, and damage from removal or installation by others, accidents, or other vehicle problems isn't covered.

If you agree to receive email, we'll check in at about 30, 85 and 365 days after pickup to ask how the battery is doing, so you'll recognise those messages when they arrive.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a hybrid battery rebuild cost?
Labor is $400 to $1,000 depending on the pack type, plus the modules that fail testing at about $45 each for Prius and Camry-type packs and about $65 each for Highlander and Lexus RX packs. A Prius with 8 modules replaced, for example, comes to $860. You get an exact estimate by email after testing, before any work.
What vehicles do you work on?
Toyota Prius (2004–2015), Prius c (2012–2019), Prius v (2012–2017), Camry Hybrid (2007–2017), Avalon Hybrid (2013–2018), Highlander Hybrid (2006–2013), Lexus RX 400h (2006–2008) and RX 450h (2010–2015), and the 6-cell Lexus packs in the CT 200h, HS 250h, ES 300h, NX 300h and GS 450h. Not the Lexus LS 600h or any lithium-ion hybrid.
Is this the same as a mobile module swap?
No. A driveway swap usually replaces only the module that set the code. We test every module out of the car, replace the weak ones with tested, matched modules, and balance the pack. Removal and installation are through partner mobile mechanics rather than us.
How long does it take?
Most 6-cell packs (Prius, Prius c, Prius v, Camry, Avalon and the 6-cell Lexus packs) are ready in 7 to 10 days once the pack is here; Highlander and Lexus RX packs take about 14 days. We confirm a date with your estimate. Same-day service is possible with notice, at a higher price: you leave with a pack of all working modules and we take yours as it is, so it's priced as a full set of modules for your pack type at 25% off the module price, plus labor. A Prius c is 20 × $45 less 25% = $675, plus $400 labor = $1,075; a Prius is 28 × $45 less 25% = $945, plus $500 labor = $1,445. Ask when you text.
Do you remove and install the battery?
No. Removal and installation are available through partner mobile mechanics listed above. That work is between you and the mechanic, and our warranty covers the battery work only.
What modules do you use?
Used OEM modules we've cycled, tested and matched to the ones kept in your pack, not new. If you want every module new, we can install a new-cell kit instead for the vehicles we have kits for.
When is a battery not worth rebuilding?
When too many modules are badly degraded, when remaining capacity is very low across the pack, or when the pack has heat damage or corrosion. We tell you after testing, and a rebuilt pack from stock or a full replacement may be the better fit.
How long will a rebuilt battery last?
It depends on the condition of the modules used and how the rest of the pack ages. We don't promise a fixed lifespan or call rebuilt batteries "like new." A well-rebuilt pack can run reliably for years, but every battery is different. Our work is backed by a 90-day limited warranty.
